The spring challenge we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! This time, we are taking on a simple yet exiting project: designing a rental kitchen with Peel And Stick Backsplash as the star of the show. Since this space isn’t too big or overly complex, we will be participating in the One Room Challenge for 4 weeks. We are excited to share our progress with you each step of the way, so stay tuned!
As the Spring 2025 One Room Challenge unfolds, I am diving into my very own kitchen makeover! Since this is a rental space, no significant changes can be made, however, with Livette's Wallpaper to the rescue, I can still give the kitchen a stylish refresh by incorporating design elements, like Peel & Stick Backsplash and Printed Fabrics. Over the next 4 weeks, I'll be diving into this project step by step - sharing DIY ideas, sourcing decor, and walking you through the entire backsplash installation process.
I knew from the start that I wanted to channel a Mediterranean vibe - earthy, warm, and full of character, as my home is very neutral overall. I'm drawing inspiration from a palette of olive green, terracotta, and warm neutrals - tones that evoke the coastal charm. To bring that vision to life, I chose the Geometric Wooden Tile Design Backsplash in custom colors Olive and Off White, which will add a striking yet organic touch against the white cabinetry and light wood countertops. The sample is already on its way! Super exciting that Livette's also offer printed fabrics to match the aesthetic, which will be a whole DIY project by itself.
And to add a little extra charm to the space, I am planning to update the cabinet handles as well! It is a small change, but one that can make a big impact. I am leaning towards gold for a warm, elegant touch that ties in beautifully with the Mediterranean palette.
