The fashion world has always been a great inspiration, and it can also be one for your interior design projects. For this Moodboard Monday, our designers chose three fashion brands they love – Jacquemus, Yves Saint Laurent, and Issey Miyake. They created three different living room interior mood boards that reflect the aesthetics of these fashion designers and their newest runway collections. From timeless classic black & white to trendy bright pink, green, and blue - let's see how fashion & interior design can go hand in hand!
1. SAINT LAURENT
Yves Saint Laurent, also known as Saint Laurent, is a French luxury fashion house founded by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Bergé. The French fashion designer is noted for his popularization of women’s trousers for all occasions. Founded in 1962, today Saint Laurent markets a range of women's and men's ready-to-wear products, leather goods, shoes and jewelry.
This sophisticated YSL inspired living room interior is minimalistic and elegant and focuses on timeless and classic design values. Black & white with a little bit of playful red are the main colors for this living room design. We chose Infinity Wall Mural in black & white for the walls – because of its ascetic, feminine, and geometric silhouettes, which are also characteristics of this interior. The Rico Sofa welcomes curves and volumes into a classic design defined by soft lines and an embracing expression. The curvaceous nature of this petite two-seater adds a modern union of comfort and elegance to the room. The white sofa is accompanied by the round black coffee table and Victoria Tasseled Pendant featuring tiers of tassels on a metallic frame. This pendant adds drama and intrigue and a little bit of gold – we can't imagine YSL inspired interior without a little bit of golden shine! To complete the look, sometimes you just need to add red lipstick, and to finish off this interior, we need exactly that – a few red accents! Mariko Isozaki's collectible vase and Laetitia Rouget’s dessert plate are the right pieces to complete this YSL inspired living room interior.

2. ISSEY MIYAKE
Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer. He is known for his technology-driven clothing designs, exhibitions and fragrances.
“The Issey Miyake SS2022 collection A Voyage in Descent is inspired by a voyage into the deep sea, beginning with a portrayal of the silence and tranquility first felt in the water, and continuing to the uplifting sensation of making new discoveries in the deep sea. This voyage serves as inspiration to the original designs and making of the collection expressed through fluid, dynamic garments and lightweight, glistening materials.” – isseymiyake.com
For this living room interior we chose Blue Art Deco Tiles Removable Wallpaper – its fresh colors reminds us of water and sea and match the Issey Miyake's SS22 collection theme. Black, dark greys, white, and a splash of bright yellow and fresh blue create an almost monochromatic color palette for this interior. Besides the blue wallpaper, the bright yellow East Sofa is another colorful piece in this interior, and it compliments the wallpaper. Fawn Velvet Ottoman in turquoise offers the spirit of relaxation and respite and reminds us of tranquility felt in the water. To tone down the brighter colors and embody the deep sea feeling, we added Dis Ocean Rug that reflects the colors of the North Sea, from dark blue, through emerald, to a light hue from a frothy wave. Array Highboard and Arc Side table are two black elements – they reflect the aesthetics of Japanese design and simplicity. One of the most notable signature elements of Issey Miyake's designs are pleats, and to add the feel of them, we chose Large White Wave Lampshade – a free-flowing shade inspired by waves. The pleats theme continues with the white wavy patterned throw pillows. Dark glass vases and coral-shaped candlestick are accent elements that remind us of deep-sea creatures and discoveries. To finish this interior, add Drifting Clouds Mobile for meditative deep-sea experiences!

3. JACQUEMUS
Simon Porte Jacquemus is a French fashion designer. He has described himself as “happy, excited, impatient,” and all of those qualities are present in his playful clothes and envelope-pushing presentations. Jacquemus’s aim is to create his own universe, and he likes to say “I don’t do clothes; I do stories.”
“As suggested by its name, Jacquemus SS22 “Le Splash” takes inspiration from water, featuring vivid blue tones reminiscent of David Hockney’s famous artworks, as well as aquatic sport references. Models walked down a blue runway on the beach, with a series of tonal ivory looks opening the collection. The water sport references were seen in the form of contoured stitchings and zip pull details taken from wetsuits, while life jackets were reimagined as puffer vests. Netting and cut-outs were some of the standout details, with the former transformed into a crossbody harness and a tank top.” – hypebae.com
For this Jacquemus inspired living room interior, we found a perfect pattern match to his new SS22 collection – Blue Watercolor Plaid Removable Wallpaper in dark navy & white. It will work as a background for the more colorful interior pieces we have in mind for this interior design! When you think of Jacquemus, the first that comes to mind are bright and cheerful colors, and we wanted to create an interior that reflects that joyfulness! This is a playful interior - both in shape & color. The centerpiece of this room is a bright pink sculptural and eye-catching Magenta "Cloud" Sofa by Vladimir Kagan. Kartell's FL/Y pink pendant lamp and Five Birds Walking Art Poster are two more pink elements that match the sofa. Moving from pink to yellow – Tufted Stripe Illusion Rug with its fun and eye-catching motif and unconventional shape will liven up the space even more. We chose Lulu Floor Lamp in velvet and Bit Stool to add a little bit of green to the room – it is one of the trendiest colors and one of the colors that remind us of Jacquemus designs. To complete this cheerful and happy interior, add a few bright blue elements that go so well with the other colors – a Persian Bleu pillow and sculptural Terracotta Vase.
