There can never be too many tips & tricks to learn when it comes to wallpapering, especially if planning for the first DIY wallpapering project to ensure a smooth process and a perfect result to be proud of. To help you better prepare for your next wallpapering project, we contacted some of the well known wallpapering professionals to kindly share some of the most important tips based on the experience to help the fellow wallpaper installers. Here will be the top tips from lovely ladies - Katie and Dina.
 

Katie's Wallpapering Tips

1.  Ordering The Correct Amount Of Wallpaper
The first tip from Katie is - ordering the correct amount of wallpaper. Katie suggests that when measuring the walls, it is best to ensure to add 4” to both the width and height, to allow for trimming, when determining the number of wallpaper panels which will be required. 2. Doing The Right Prep Work
The second tip Katie gives is making sure to do the right preparations before the wallpaper installment. Katie says: "For example, if you are installing a wallpaper with a light background, the wall should be painted a white color in advance. As well, ensure to sand the wall, so that it is smooth." 3. Make Sure You Have All The Right Tools And Wallpaper Adhesive
As the third tip Katie suggests to make sure you have all the right tools and wallpaper adhesive. She recommends the ROMAN PRO-838 paste, and the following tools:
  • Paint roller and brush
  • Plastic wallpaper smoother
  • Leveler
  • Tape measure - to confirm wall size
  • Trimming snap-off blade - for trimming wallpaper
  • Step ladder and drop cloth
  • Microfibre cloth and clean warm water - to wipe wallpaper
